Business Financing Document Checklist for U.S. and Canadian Businesses
Preparing for a financing conversation is easier when your records and questions are organized. This checklist is a starting point for business owners in the United States and Canada. It is not a universal underwriting checklist: each provider sets its own requirements.
G-Force Funding is a lending marketplace, not a direct lender. We help businesses explore options through participating providers, who determine eligibility, approval, pricing and terms.
1. Define the Business Need
Write down the requested amount, intended use, preferred timeline and expected repayment source. Separate a recurring operating need from a one-time purchase. Include delivery, installation or other related expenses when estimating project costs.
A business line of credit, equipment financing and a short-term loan have different structures. Start with the business need before choosing a product label.
2. Organize Business and Ownership Information
- Legal business name, business structure, operating address and country.
- Industry, time in operation and a description of products or services.
- Ownership information and the person authorized to discuss financing.
- Registration, licensing or tax records if requested by a provider.
Confirm the provider’s exact requirements. U.S. and Canadian processes and product availability differ.
3. Prepare Financial Records
A provider may request recent business bank statements, financial statements, tax returns or other evidence of revenue and expenses. Organize existing loan and lease payments so you can explain your total obligations. Identify unusual transactions or seasonal changes that may need context.
For an equipment purchase, keep the supplier quote and asset details available. For asset-secured financing, ask which ownership, valuation and existing-lien records are required. See our collateral financing guide for questions to consider.
4. Build a Repayment Budget
Estimate the cash available after ordinary operating expenses and existing debt payments. Compare that amount with the proposed payment frequency and schedule. Include a slower-sales scenario and consider whether the expected business benefit arrives before the first payments are due.
For eligible U.S. businesses considering SBA financing, the SBA loan calculator can help explore payment assumptions. Results are estimates, not an offer or eligibility decision. Canadian businesses should discuss Canada-appropriate options.
5. Request a Complete Offer Breakdown
- Amount received after upfront charges.
- Interest or financing charges and every applicable fee.
- Payment amount, frequency and full repayment schedule.
- Total repayment amount and the basis used to compare cost.
- Collateral, liens, guarantees and default provisions.
- Early repayment terms and any remaining charges.
6. Confirm How to Share Documents
Ask which documents are necessary and which secure channel the provider uses. Do not put account numbers, identity documents or detailed financial records into a general website message field unless you have verified that it is the intended submission method.

Contact our team or start a funding inquiry with your business location, funding goal and requested amount. We can discuss options and the next information needed. An inquiry does not guarantee approval or funding.
