Restaurant equipment financing can help spread the cost of replacing a refrigerator, upgrading an oven or purchasing a commercial kitchen package. A useful financing plan starts with the equipment quote, installation needs and the cash your restaurant must keep available for payroll, food and everyday operations.
G-Force Funding is a lending marketplace serving businesses in the United States and Canada, not a direct lender. We help you explore financing through participating providers. Equipment eligibility, approval, costs, terms and timing depend on your business, location and provider.
Discuss Your Restaurant Equipment Purchase
Plan Your Commercial Kitchen Equipment Financing
Start with an itemized quote. Equipment to discuss may include ovens and ranges, refrigeration and freezers, dishwashers, commercial mixers, prep equipment or a package of kitchen assets. Confirm each item’s eligibility with the provider; a list of equipment is not a commitment to finance it.
Separate movable equipment from renovations, plumbing, electrical work, ventilation, installation and other buildout costs. A provider may treat these expenses differently or exclude some of them from equipment financing. Include taxes, delivery, warranties and removal of old equipment in your cash budget.
Restaurant Equipment Financing Requirements
Providers may review time in business, revenue, cash flow, credit, existing debt and the proposed equipment. There is no single minimum credit score, revenue level or down payment across our marketplace.
- Equipment quote: Include models, quantities, prices, supplier details and delivery dates.
- Business information: Prepare ownership details, business location and operating history.
- Financial records: Have bank statements, financial statements and tax records available if requested. Explain seasonal revenue and existing loan or lease payments.
- Project budget: Identify your cash contribution and expenses you need to cover separately.
- Opening or replacement timeline: Explain whether this is a planned upgrade, an urgent replacement or a new location.
Use our business financing document checklist to prepare. Confirm the provider’s submission process before sharing financial records.
Buying Used Restaurant Equipment
A lower purchase price can be attractive, but assess condition and operating costs before choosing a used asset. Ask for the model, serial number, age, service history, warranty details and evidence that the seller owns the equipment. Consider an inspection, installation compatibility and the availability of replacement parts.
Ask the provider whether it can consider the equipment’s age, seller and remaining useful life. Compare the cost of repairs and downtime with the savings on purchase price. Our equipment financing guide includes more preparation steps for used equipment.
Equipment Loan vs. Lease
With a loan, the business generally buys the equipment and the lender holds a security interest. With a lease, the lessor generally owns the equipment during the agreement; any later purchase, return or renewal depends on the contract.
Compare upfront cash, every scheduled payment, fees, maintenance responsibilities, insurance and any end-of-term buyout. Ask what happens if you replace the equipment early or close the location. A smaller monthly payment does not necessarily produce a lower total cost.
Example: Replacing Refrigeration and an Oven
Suppose a restaurant budgets $18,000 for refrigeration, $12,000 for an oven and $5,000 for delivery and installation. The project totals $35,000 before taxes, insurance and financing charges. If the provider offered $28,000 in usable financing proceeds, the restaurant would need $7,000 in cash, plus excluded expenses.
This is a hypothetical planning example, not a customer result or financing offer. Confirm whether installation is eligible and when vendor payments occur. Keep the project cash separate from the money needed for the next payroll and inventory order. For a sample monthly loan calculation, see our equipment financing payment example.
Common Questions
Can a startup restaurant get equipment financing?
Availability for startups varies. Discuss your operating experience, business plan, equipment quote and cash contribution before assuming a provider can support a new restaurant. Approval is not guaranteed.
Can a full kitchen package be considered?
Provide an itemized quote and separate equipment from construction and installation. Ask which items and costs the provider can consider and whether it requires one supplier or accepts multiple suppliers.
Can financing cover an emergency replacement?
Tell us your deadline and ask about realistic review and funding timing. Do not assume an inquiry, approval or quoted timeline means the supplier has been paid. Consider how you will keep operating if funding or delivery takes longer.
